Making Of – Dorothea Michalk

Hi Folks, it’s us again this time with our second making-of video attempt. Marie shot the new collection from Dresden based Designer Dorothea Michalk a few weeks back and I used the opportunity to shoot a little behind the scenes footage to show you how we’re working and how much fun we usually have on set. Head over to the full post to get some more information, the gear we used (spoiler alert – Nikon all over the place) and to see some more making-of pictures.

The shooting took place in the beautiful location of Schloss Proschwitz, which is an old vineyard near Meißen. Dorothea also organized some high-quality jewelry produced by  Wempe. To present the elegant and timeless dresses made by Dorothea supported by shining jewelry we had our two beautiful models Sina and Hannah. Both of them did a wonderful job at looking absolutely fabulous that day with the help of hair & make-up artist Marijana Kalbas.

If you want to get some more behind the scenes impression make sure to visit Dorothea’s Facebook page and to see her dresses first hand visit her website or her store directly in Dresden.

In addition to have a very professional team in a beautiful location this was also the first time Marie was using her new Nikon D810 which was given to her by Nikon Germany. The Camera produced beautiful files even though the noise performance suffers in combination with that much resolution and when using just natural light. But it is definitely an improvement over the old D800. Nikon was also kind enough to provide me with a 24-120 which I used mainly for filming the whole video with Marie’s old D800 to keep it all in the family.

We hope you enjoy the insight in our work and we can’t wait to share the pictures with you once they’re ready! So please check back in a few days since we will most certainly share them on here.

All the best,

Alex & Marie.
