About Skateboards, comfort zones and AF-systems

Hi fellas this is Alex, this time with a short post about my latest shoot in cape town. As you might know Marie and me are currently on stay here to expand our portfolios. For me this means doing more sports and action stuff. So i set up a shoot with James, a skateboarder from a local agency called FanJam. Beside this being the first time ever for me to shoot a skateboarder without knowing a lot about it, it was also the perfect opportunity to test the AF systems of both the A7 and the a6000.

Cape Town – a fashion shoot with the Olympus OMD EM-1 | VIDEO

Hey there fellas! As you might know we are in cape town at the very moment so we got lots of stuff to do. Since I promised some making-of stuff at the very beginning I used Marie’s first shoot with the gorgeous Lisa from Ice Models Capetown featuring the Olympus OMD EM-1, Olympus Germany was kind enough to give her for the trip,  to make a little behind the scenes video. My hands are super shaky as it seems and my grading skills are far away from perfect but this might give you an idea how it looks like when we’re shooting.

Zeiss Touit Lenses on the Sony a6000 – a review

Hello, this is marie. This time it’s on me to serve your evening reading needs. This post is about the zeiss touit lens line-up for mirrorless cameras. Zeiss Germany was kind enough to let me use the 3 currently available lenses on my trip to asia in december 2014. I just bought a a6000 so this came in very handy. Follow the link below to see what i think about them and if they made me miss my D800 and my beloved Nikon 2.8/70-200.

How to take pictures of your girlfriend …

… without risking your relationship, or spending a day with the Sony A7 in Praque.

Hi this is Alex again, with a little tech inspired story about our trip to Praque last weekend. Instead of my main travel cam, my Sony a6000 (read my review) i took my newly acquired Sony A7, with the VG-C1EM battery grip and the new Sony FE 70-200/4. Since i had some space left in my Ona bag i threw in the Sigma Art 1.4/35mm. Not exactly a light carry around all day solution but hey, it was for science‘ sake. In the end it all to take pictures of Marie so i decided to make a little How-To alongside the technical stuff. Enjoy!

Walking with tourists in cambodia.

Hi there, here we are again. We’re slowly working on ordering the images and process all the files we have taken on our asia trip, back in december. In between our 4-week trip we stayed 6 days in Siam Reap/Cambodia to visit the temples. In addition to the normal sightseeing stuff Marie was focusing on continuing her child series she started back in 2012. So read on to learn how to stay calm between asian tourist bouncing around with selfie sticks and see a few of the shots we took there.
