Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8 – Review

Hello there everybody,

a few weeks back Zeiss, the very company doing these crazy awesome lenses which costs you boatloads of money but deliver amazing results, contacted us with the question if we would like to try a new, yet to announce product. Since this isn’t really a question you can bet I said yes and a few days later a prototype of the new Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8 arrived at our doorstep. Read on a little review of the lens with some general comments and read about two shoots we did with it.

Matblac Studio Wriststrap | Review + Giveaway

Hey Folks,

we all are constantly annoyed by manufacturers include awful cheap looking and feeling straps with their multi thousand dollar cameras and I don’t know how it is with you but normal camera straps are always in the way when you’re shooting. They’re just good for having the camera on your shoulder but that’s all. I first came across Matblac while visiting the Old Biscuit Mill Market in Cape town and while they did not have any camera related stuff by then I was amazed by the high-quality everyday life accessories they did. I quickly followed them on Instagram which was the place for Matthew, Matblac’s Mastermind to put nice pics of his iPhone Cases, wallets and sunglass cases. As soon as he put up a picture from a wriststrap prototype I was hooked and after I told him that he invited me over to have a first look at it and tell him about my first impression from a photographers perspective. Head over to the full post to read about the final version and how you can get one of these wrist straps yourself since were giving one away.

Hello everyone,

from the title you can already guess that this post is about to get cramped. 🙂 It is not only our first post to be done in america, since we have been in LA for about a week. It is also a new making-of video from marie’s first shoot, lucky you it is a bikini shoot, but it also features a few words on the 50mm 1.4 ART lens from sigma and since that isn’t enough we also throw in a few words on doing video with the new XAVC-S codec on the a6000.  So head on to the full post to read all about it and see some pictures from the shoot itself. And don’t forget to watch the video at first:

Marie’s LA Gear

Hi there everyone this is Marie. We are currently right in the middle of our final preparations for our trip to LA starting this weekend. We will be on stay for about 4 weeks and we planned the whole thing as a mixture of vacation and self promotional work. Since we’re leaving in a few days it was about time to check our gear and we thought it might be interesting for a few of you to know what will be in our bags for the trip. In addition Sigma Germany have been kind enough to let me play with their new toys which I will test drive over there and hopefully I will be back with a lot of new pictures and Alex and me might even do a little review about the new Art-Lenses.

Zeiss Touit Lenses on the Sony a6000 – a review

Hello, this is marie. This time it’s on me to serve your evening reading needs. This post is about the zeiss touit lens line-up for mirrorless cameras. Zeiss Germany was kind enough to let me use the 3 currently available lenses on my trip to asia in december 2014. I just bought a a6000 so this came in very handy. Follow the link below to see what i think about them and if they made me miss my D800 and my beloved Nikon 2.8/70-200.

Walking with tourists in cambodia.

Hi there, here we are again. We’re slowly working on ordering the images and process all the files we have taken on our asia trip, back in december. In between our 4-week trip we stayed 6 days in Siam Reap/Cambodia to visit the temples. In addition to the normal sightseeing stuff Marie was focusing on continuing her child series she started back in 2012. So read on to learn how to stay calm between asian tourist bouncing around with selfie sticks and see a few of the shots we took there.
